If you’re reading this, chances are you’re panicking like I am. Why wouldn’t you? Since Hannukah and Christmas are just around the corner, you have every reason to panic. You’ve probably looked at your holiday to do list and wondered how the heck you’re going to get it all done in just two weeks. Why did you wait until the last minute? Just for fun, I guess.
Comrade, I’m with you. My to do list gives me nightmares.
Last night, I tossed and turned because the holidays came too soon, like they always do. While I tossed, I dreamt that Santa showed up at my door and handed me a lump of coal. Disappointed, I asked him why.
“What did you expect?,” he replied. “You left everything until the last minute!”
I never said the nightmare made sense in the parameters of reality, but it definitely reflects my current state of worry. While I kept on top of the few holiday gifts I’m making myself (phew!), nothing else feels done. After all, we only decorated our tree on Monday!
Avoid the Last Minute Panic
I don’t want you to have Santa nightmares like I did. Even though there is a limited amount of time left, I want you to feel confidence in knowing that you can still do it all. I want you to get to that place of relief and calm after the last item on your checklist is complete.
That’s why I’ve compiled this round-up to give you one place to solve all your last minute shopping and entertaining woes. So, let’s get started.
Last Minute Gift Ideas
I know, the days for buying gifts will soon be over. After all, how do you choose the right gift in such a short amount of time? Since some of the people on your list will be people you don’t know well, there are some great options for general gifts.
2017 World Travel Calendar* A calendar with pretty views will inspire them during their coffee breaks.
Also, who doesn’t love chocolate? While you have to be careful of nut allergies, I LOVE these Ghirardelli Minis* for a sweet and salty treat! Someone put it in my stocking! Haha.
Still not striking your fancy? You could always go with the practical Jackery Portable Battery Charger.* Since people spend so much time on their phones these days, they’ll be sure to thank you for giving them the extra boost. 😛

Why Did I Decide to Host a Christmas Party?
Okay, we’ve all been there. It’s the day or two before your party and you’re wondering why you decided to do this again. Just take a deep breath because I have just the answer for you. My friend Teresa over at WeSpeak DIY posted a guide to stress-free entertaining that is genius! She covered everything from prep to clean-up, since those are the most stressful parts! The mind-blowing moment for me was the Chic Disposable Plates she used so she could avoid a huge pile of dishes. So, they look just as classy as fancy dinnerware without the need to clean them!
The City Cook gives some good ideas about what to serve for different kinds of holiday gatherings.
Personally, I thought a Pop Up Cocktail Party in 30 minutes was impossible, but Celebrations breaks it down in a way that streamlines and simplifies your party to-do list.
Still panicked? Let me know how I can help! Leave me a comment and I’ll help you solve your last-minute entertaining issues!
Once you’re done with the holiday shopping and entertaining, make sure you take some time for yourself and relax. I love Starbucks Peppermint Hot Cocoa*, which I enjoy by the fire with a good book.
